Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Job Baddie ("we," "us," "our"). They cover the Job Baddie web app, the Job Baddie Chrome extension, and anything else we offer that links to them (together, the "App").

By creating an account, ticking the box that refers to these Terms, installing the Extension, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information and forms part of these Terms.

Who You Are Dealing With

Job Baddie is an independent product built and operated from Ontario, Canada. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any job site, job board, applicant tracking system, employer, or recruiter mentioned anywhere in the App.

If Job Baddie is later operated through a company, these Terms continue to apply between you and that company, and we may transfer this agreement to it without needing to ask you again — see General.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the App. You must not be barred from using it under the laws of your country. If you use the App for or through an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Your Account

Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current.
Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, whether or not you authorized it.
Tell us promptly at jobbaddie@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
One account per person. Creating additional accounts to obtain more free usage than one account allows is a breach of these Terms.

What Job Baddie Is

Job Baddie is an organizing and drafting tool for your own job search. It helps you save job postings, track applications through stages, store a small number of resumes, generate and tailor resume drafts with AI, and compare a resume against a job description.

Just as importantly, here is what it is not:

We are not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, job board, or your agent. We do not submit applications for you and we do not contact employers on your behalf.
We do not create, verify, endorse, or vet job postings. Postings you save come from third-party sites or from you, and may be inaccurate, out of date, filled, or fraudulent. Verify anything that matters — especially before sending personal documents or money to anyone.
Nothing in the App is career, legal, immigration, tax, financial, or employment advice.

We do not promise any outcome from your job search.

We do not guarantee that you will receive interviews, job offers, employment, any particular salary, or any response at all, and we do not guarantee that a resume produced with the App will pass any employer's screening, recruiter's review, or applicant tracking system. Hiring decisions are made by third parties on grounds entirely outside our control.

Your Content

"Your Content" means everything you put into the App — resumes and documents you upload, profile details, job postings you save, notes, and anything you submit to an AI feature.

You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process Your Content, and to send it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, strictly for the purpose of operating the App and providing the features you ask for. This licence exists only so the App can work; it ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from copies in routine backups that expire on their normal cycle.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

You confirm that:

You have the right to submit Your Content, and doing so breaks no law and infringes nobody's rights.
Any personal information about other people that you upload — a referee's phone number, a colleague's name — is something you are allowed to share with us.
Your Content is truthful as far as it describes you. You are responsible for the accuracy of your own resume.

AI Features

Some features generate or rewrite text using large language models operated by third-party AI providers. When you use one, the relevant resume and job description text is sent to that provider to produce a result ("Output").

Output can be wrong, and you have to check it

AI Output is generated by statistical prediction, not by anyone who knows your history. It can be inaccurate, incomplete, generic, out of date, or entirely invented — including employers you never worked for, dates that are wrong, achievements that never happened, and numbers that were never measured.

You must read and correct every Output before you use it.

You are solely responsible for anything you send to an employer, recruiter, or anyone else, whether or not the App helped you write it. If an Output overstates your experience and you send it anyway, that is your representation, not ours, and the consequences are yours.

Which model we use is our choice, and it will change

We choose the AI models and providers behind these features and may change, replace, downgrade, restrict, or withdraw them at any time — for example when a provider retires a model, changes its pricing or terms, or stops being available to us. Different models produce different results, and quality, length, formatting, and speed may vary between one generation and the next. We do not promise any particular model, provider, quality level, or consistency, and we are not liable for changes in Output that follow such a change.

Output is not exclusive to you

As between you and us, you may use Output for your own job search. We make no representation that Output is original, that it is protected by copyright, or that you hold exclusive rights in it. Similar inputs from other users can produce similar Output.

Scores and keyword analysis are estimates

Match scores, keyword suggestions, and similar analysis are produced by our own methods. They are not generated by, endorsed by, or connected to any employer or applicant tracking system, and they do not tell you how any real screening system will treat your resume.

The Chrome Extension

The Extension reads details from job postings you are viewing on the sites it supports and saves them to your account when you click Save. Using it is subject to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for complying with the terms of any site you visit while using the Extension. If a site's terms do not permit you to copy its content, do not use the Extension there.
We are not affiliated with the supported job sites. They can change their pages, structure, or policies at any time, which may stop the Extension from working correctly or at all, with or without warning.
Captured details may be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the original posting.
We may update the Extension automatically through the Chrome Web Store, and we may change which sites it supports or withdraw it entirely.

Plans, Usage Limits, and Changes to the App

Job Baddie is currently free to use while it is in beta.

Some features carry usage limits — for example how many AI resumes you can generate in a day, how many documents you can store, and how many jobs you can save. The limits that apply to you at any moment are the ones shown in the App. We deliberately do not state them here, because they change.

We may change any limit or feature at any time, including for accounts that already exist.

Specifically, we may:

introduce, raise, lower, or remove any usage limit, including lowering a limit you have been using, and including applying a new limit to an account created before it existed;
change, suspend, degrade, or discontinue any feature — including any AI feature — or the App as a whole;
move a feature that is free today behind a paid plan, or begin charging for the App;
change how a feature works, what it produces, or how fast it responds.

We may do any of this at our discretion and without giving a reason. Where a change materially reduces core functionality we will try to give reasonable advance notice by email or in the App, but we are not obliged to, and notice may not be possible where a change is forced on us by a third party, by cost, by security, or by law.

Free access to a feature or limit is not a promise that it will stay available, stay free, or stay the same size. You are not entitled to any refund, credit, compensation, or replacement for a change to a free feature, for unused capacity, or for a limit you did not use before it changed. If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using the App and delete your account.

Availability, Beta, and Your Own Copies

The App is in active development. It may contain bugs, behave unexpectedly, go down for maintenance, or become unavailable because of a problem at one of the providers it runs on. We do not promise any level of uptime, response time, or availability.

Job Baddie is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of every resume and document that matters to you.

Content stored in the App can be lost, corrupted, or deleted — through failure, error, a provider outage, a security incident, or the operation of these Terms. We are not liable for lost or corrupted content, and you should never rely on the App as your only copy of anything.

Paid Plans

We do not charge for the App today. If we introduce paid plans, the price, billing period, and what each plan includes will be shown before you subscribe, and you will only be charged if you choose to subscribe.

When paid plans exist, the following will apply: fees are stated exclusive of taxes unless we say otherwise, and you are responsible for any tax that applies; subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; fees already paid are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law; and we may change prices for future billing periods on reasonable notice, which you can decline by cancelling. We may also add supplementary terms for a paid plan at the point of purchase.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

work around, disable, or attempt to exceed any usage limit or rate limit, including by creating multiple accounts, sharing accounts, or automating requests;
access the App by bot, scraper, script, or any automated means, or resell, rent, sublicense, or make the App available to anyone else as a service;
copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying models of the App, except to the extent this restriction is unenforceable by law;
probe, scan, or test the security of the App, or interfere with its operation, or place an unreasonable load on it;
upload malware, unlawful content, content that infringes anyone's rights, or personal information about other people that you have no right to share;
use Output or any part of the App to deceive anyone, to misrepresent your qualifications, identity, or work history, or to generate mass unsolicited messages;
use the App to build a competing product, or to train a machine learning model;
use the App in breach of any applicable law or third-party terms.

We may investigate suspected breaches and respond as we think appropriate — including warning you, reducing your limits, removing content, suspending or deleting your account, and reporting the matter to the authorities.

Our Rights & Your Feedback

The App — its software, design, text, graphics, the Job Baddie name and logo, and everything else in it apart from Your Content — belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own job search, subject to these Terms. Nothing else is granted.

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or ideas, we may use them for any purpose, without restriction, attribution, or payment to you. Please don't send us anything you want to keep confidential or be paid for.

Third-Party Services

The App runs on infrastructure and services operated by third parties, and links out to sites we do not control. Our Privacy Policy lists the providers that handle your information. We are not responsible for those services, their availability, their content, their terms, or anything you do on them. If one of them changes, fails, raises its prices, or stops serving us, the App may be affected — see Plans, Usage Limits, and Changes.

Suspension, Inactivity, and Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account removes your saved jobs and stored documents, so download anything you want to keep first.

We may suspend or terminate your account, or restrict your access to any part of the App, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if your use creates a risk or a disproportionate cost for us, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the App. Where it is practical and appropriate, we will tell you first.

Inactive accounts. If you do not sign in for 6 consecutive months, we may delete your account and everything stored in it. Before we do, we will email the address on your account and give you at least 30 days to sign in and keep it. Signing in resets the clock.

Sections that by their nature should survive — including Your Content licence for existing backups, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, and Governing Law — continue to apply after your account ends.

Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranties of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all representations, warranties, conditions, and guarantees, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including any implied warranty of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or quiet enjoyment.

In particular, we do not warrant that the App will be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that it will meet your requirements; that defects will be corrected; that any Output will be accurate, original, complete, suitable, or fit for any purpose; that any job posting shown or captured is genuine or current; or that using the App will produce any result, including any interview, offer, or job.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or conditions. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any right, warranty, or remedy you have that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you — including under Ontario's consumer protection legislation. Where such a right applies, our liability is limited to the minimum the law permits.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except for liability that cannot be excluded (including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence):

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, wages, earnings, business opportunity, goodwill, reputation, or data — however caused, and even if we were told such loss was possible.
We are specifically not liable for any job, interview, offer, promotion, or income you did not get, for any hiring decision made about you, for any consequence of an employer relying on a document you produced with the App, or for a scam, fraud, or misuse of your information by anyone you applied to or dealt with.
Our total liability for all claims relating to the App is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and CAD $50. Because the App is currently free, that cap will usually be CAD $50.

These limits apply to every kind of claim — contract, tort, negligence, statute, or anything else — and apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose.

You accept that these limits are a reasonable allocation of risk between us, and that they are part of why the App can be offered to you free of charge.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or cost (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising out of Your Content, your use of the App, your breach of these Terms or of any law, your breach of another site's terms while using the Extension, or any statement you made to an employer or anyone else using material produced with the App.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice by email or in the App before they take effect. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the App and delete your account.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of law rules. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections and any right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own place of residence where the law gives you that right.

Before starting formal proceedings, please email us at jobbaddie@gmail.com with a description of the problem and what you would like us to do. Most things are faster to fix this way, and we will try to resolve it with you within 30 days.

General

Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, to a company we form to operate Job Baddie, to an affiliate, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the App, and replace anything said earlier about it.
Events outside our control. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by anything beyond our reasonable control, including outages, provider failures, network problems, and changes in law.
Notices. We may contact you at the email address on your account, and you agree that counts as written notice.
No third-party rights. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
Language. The parties have requested that these Terms and all related documents be drawn up in English. Les parties ont demandé que les présentes conditions et tous les documents s'y rapportant soient rédigés en anglais.
